Update on LA's Vaccine Passport System
The city just passed its vaccine passport ordinance, but it did not pass as an urgency ordinance, so it will be easier to fight. We're ready to oppose it. We've met with a professional signature gatherer, and we're looking for a professional fundraiser.
Here is my public comment from today's meeting:
Angela McArdle, general public comment:
My name is Angela McArdle, I’m the chair of the Libertarian Party of Los Angeles County. We will be seeking to overturn this ordinance, either by initiative or referendum, but in the meantime I urge mass non compliance.
The city does not have the infrastructure to enforce this law and if we work together, we can overwhelm their system quickly.
The city will likely create a new enforcement agency of busybodies who go around and ticket businesses for non compliance. We need to organize and call the enforcement agency nonstop to run them around and tie up their number.
Use any vaccine mandate agency number as a tipline for problems that really matter, like graffiti, trash, potholes, and complaints about your city councilperson.
Start organizing your call groups now. Then you’ll have a team in place to sign our referendum and collect signatures.
We can beat back this tyranny, but we need to organize and work together. The Libertarian Party supports you.
